Voiceover Demo

I just completed my commercial voice-over demo reel. Check it out here:

Narrator’s Statement

My name is Debora Jan Gray. I am a SAG/AFTRA actor, as well as a writer and producer. I have been a professional country singer/songwriter. I have also had a career as a teacher of incarcerated youth. As an actor, I am usually cast as a mother/grandmother, angry/comedic/crazy (including Alzheimers and dementia)/sexy (cougar) older woman. I have recently written and recorded an autobiographical serial episodic podcast, ‘Authentically,Debz,’ a Southern girl looks at 70, the through-line of which is my lifelong struggle with OCD (obsessive compulsive disorder). As an audiobook narrator, I am drawn to fiction and memoirs of fascinating characters, which includes romance, suspense thrillers and literary fiction, and narrating southerners is one of my specialties.

I’m now am a member of APA (Audio Publishers Association), the voice of the audiobook industry.

I’ll be recording my audiobook narrating demo reel March 2, after which I will be reaching out to publishers and producers and beginning my career in audiobook narration.

I have three reasons to celebrate this month!

  1. I just signed with new SAG/AFTRA theatrical agency, ASAP Talent Agency, LA/Atlanta. Very excited to add them to my team!

2. I just completed my home audio studio for audiobook narration and voice-over work. Take a look!

3. I just completed my training and certification for handling and purchasing a handgun.

Audiobook Narrator

Debora Jan Gray is now an audiobook narrator(!) in addition to being a SAG/AFTRA actor, teacher, writer and podcaster. She’s used her mezzo-soprano voice for decades as a professional country singer/songwriter, actor, voice talent for commercials, jingles, and most recently, her autobiographical serial episodic podcast, Authentically Debz. She loves audiobook narrating – memoir, fantasy, suspense/thriller and romance. Her southern roots make her the perfect fit for a story that calls for a range of southern dialects.
